Nanshaolin Temple in Fuqing, nestled in wooded hills of Dongzhang Town, is reputed as a southern branch of Songshan Shaolin Temple founded in the Tang Dynasty.
Archaeological excavations in the 1990s unearthed abundant temple foundations and martial arts relics spanning the Song to Qing dynasties. It is a pivotal origin of Southern Shaolin culture and the core inheritance base of Fujian Southern Fist.
Equipped with martial arts exhibition zones and history museums, it allows visitors to explore ancient ruins and experience authentic Southern Shaolin culture, emerging as a signature cultural tourism landmark in Fuqing.
