Standing beside Xuefeng Temple in Minhou County, the Withered Tree Nunnery is a legendary cultural relic across Xuefeng Mountain, famous for a massive withered tree aged over a thousand years.
Hollowed out like a cave, the ancient tree bears legible Tang Dynasty inscriptions on its inner wall, forming a rare domestic spectacle known as "steles preserved inside a tree trunk".
Built closely along the tree’s natural shape with minimal ornate decorations, the nunnery boasts a serene setting. It embodies the wonders of nature and carries the profound thousand-year Buddhist heritage of Xuefeng Mountain, making it an off-the-beaten-path destination favored by history enthusiasts.
