Guifeng Ancient Village, Youxi

Guifeng Ancient Village in Youxi is tucked deep in central Fujian mountains, preserving rows of intact Ming and Qing Cai clan dwellings layered up the hillside, with rammed white walls, black tile horse-head gables scattered among terraced farmland and forests. 

Ancient stone steps, ancestral halls, study rooms and wells remain fully preserved. Famous for farming-scholar traditions, ancestral hall gateways are covered with plaques recording ancient academic achievements, with osmanthus blossoms filling the mountains with sweet fragrance in autumn and soft mountain scenery all year round. Free of crowds of commercial shops, it retains pure original rural vibes.
