Peitian Ancient Dwellings, Liancheng

24-08-2026 09:18 source: liability:王亮

Peitian Ancient Dwellings in Liancheng form western Fujian’s largest intact Hakka residential complex, a Wu clan settlement from Ming and Qing dynasties with over 300 rammed-earth mansions, ancestral halls, academies and ancient roads connected together, fully preserving the nine-hall eighteen-well architectural layout. Doors, windows and beams are covered with delicate Hakka wood, stone and brick carvings.

Surrounded by rice fields and brooks, the village’s white walls and grey tiles reflect on water, with wide alleys and sparse crowds retaining authentic Hakka clan living scenes. Wandering mansion corridors to admire three carving intangible crafts unveils western Fujian Hakka migration and farming-scholar heritage.

Pastoral landscapes paired with millennial ancient buildings deliver slow soothing vibes, a hidden gem for authentic Hakka cultural experience.
