Sanfang Qixiang Historical and Cultural Block is located in Gulou District, Fuzhou.
The area has more than 170 buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, showing the traditional style of local Fujian homes. Former residences of many famous historical figures from Fujian are also found here. Together, they reflect Fuzhou’s traditional social life and rich cultural heritage.
During this year’s Lantern Festival, Sanfang Qixiang held a special Intangible Cultural Heritage Carnival. Traditional Fujian crafts stepped out from display cases and became real experiences—things visitors could taste, try, and even take home.
A 25-meter giant light-and-shadow “Fortune Fish” circled above the old houses, shining together with the dreamy projection show on the district’s “Love Tree.” The ancient tree became a stage of light, with golden blessing bags hanging from its branches. The Fortune Fish rose and circled around the tree, creating a scene of good luck and joy, and turning the Lantern Festival into a magical and dreamlike celebration.
