Qida Village in Lianjiang County, Fujian Province, is a thousand-year-old coastal village that brings together mountains, sea, islands, and a fishing community. Visitors often call it the “Venice on the Sea.” It is a natural safe harbor, with more than 30,000 mu of sea area, ideal for farming seafood such as abalone and kelp. Large stretches of fishing rafts form what looks like a “marine pasture” on the water.
Known as the most beautiful fishing village in Fuzhou, Qida Village has been listed among China’s Top Ten Charming Photography Destinations. Tourists with cameras are often seen wandering between the mountains and the sea. The most stunning view is the “Grand View of Mountains and Sea.” From Qiguan Peak, at the top of Baiyun Mountain and named for its flag-like shape, visitors can enjoy a spectacular sight: in the distance, more than 20 small islands are scattered across the blue sea, while nearby, rows of fishing rafts and boats in the farming area line up neatly, like notes on a musical staff.
