The Chuxi Tulou Cluster is located in Chuxi Village, Xiayang Town, Yongding District, Fujian Province. It was built over several centuries, from the Ming Dynasty to modern times, and served as the settlement of the Xu family. The total area is 14.72 hectares.
The Chuxi Tulou Cluster is considered the most traditional and culturally rich Hakka tulou in Yongding and is praised as "the most beautiful tulou cluster in China."
The Chuxi Tulou Cluster is one of the "three clusters and two buildings"in Yongding. It consists of five round tulou and dozens of square ones. The names of the buildings all include the character "Qing" (meaning "celebration") to symbolize prosperity and good fortune.
