Sanjiangkou Town lies in the southeast of Hanjiang District, Putian. It gets its name from the convergence of three rivers — Mulan, Yanshou and Qiulu — which flow together into the sea. Boasting a long history, it was once a bustling commercial port and hometown for overseas Chinese, earning the nickname "Little Shanghai". Today, the town puts ecology first. The wetlands at the Mulan River Estuary have become a haven for migratory birds, and local waters yield premium seafood including Duotou razor clams, a national geographical indication product. The area also develops modern industries such as fishery-solar complementary power and green manufacturing. It strikes a perfect balance between ecological conservation and high-quality development, presenting a vibrant new look where people live in harmony with the sea and thrive alongside marine resources.
