Li Gong Pavilion sits on a stone ridge west of Daoshan Pavilion in the heart of Fuzhou’s Wushan Historic District, Fujian. First erected in the Ming Jiajing era by locals to honor anti‑pirate general Li Pengju, it bears the carving “Wushi Mountain stands, Lord Li endures” on nearby rocks, symbolizing the hero’s everlasting legacy.
Rebuilt in 2004 and restored to its original look in 2008, it features an introduction to Li Pengju’s feats and a couplet praising his heroism on its pillars for visitors to pay tribute. Wushan Scenic Area, home to the pavilion, boasts one of Fuzhou’s densest collections of cliff carvings, where visitors honor national heroes and admire exquisite stone artworks.
