Recently, the newly upgraded Fuzhou Panda World officially reopened to the public. Five giant pandas, who traveled from far away, have started meeting local residents and visitors.
Fuzhou Panda World is located in the Daxi Lake scenic area. The park’s design takes into account both the historical style of West Lake and the natural features of the surrounding hills. When designing the pandas’ living space, the design team worked closely with experts and carefully improved every detail. They optimized the plan from different aspects such as sound and lighting.
The park has mountains and water, creating a natural environment. The activity areas include shrubs, tall trees, artificial rocks, pools, and climbing structures, providing the pandas with a comfortable and spacious place to live and play.
According to a senior keeper at the park, one panda started eating Fuzhou-grown bitter bamboo on the very first day it arrived. All five pandas enjoy the local bamboo. The keepers record the weight of the pandas’ feces every day to monitor how much they are eating.
