The Kuifengjing General Temple is located by the railway in Kuiqi Village, Mawei District, Fuzhou. The temple was first built in the 20th year of Emperor Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1681). It is dedicated to General Jin and is a historical site showing the exchanges between Fuzhou and the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom (today’s Okinawa, Japan).
According to legend, General Jin, whose courtesy name was Botong, was from the Tangying community of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Tangying, later known as Kume Village, is in Naha City. It was established in 1392 by immigrants belonging to the “Thirty-six families from Min.”
