Putian lychees

Originating in the Tang Dynasty, Putian lychees are celebrated worldwide for their exceptional quality. They are distinguished by their unique cultivars, a striking crimson hue, incredibly juicy pulp, an exquisitely refreshing flavor, and an intense, sweet fragrance.

The scholar Cai Xiang of the Song Dynasty penned the world's first Treatise on Lychees, declaring those from Xinghua to be the most extraordinary. The lychee tree has since been honored as the city tree of Putian.
