Fujian Province is an important center for eel farming and export in China, accounting for more than 60% of the country's total eel exports.
According to statistics, from January to July 2025, Fujian exported grilled eel worth 2.166 billion yuan, ranking first nationwide. The products were sold to Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, the United States, Thailand, and other countries and regions.
