Gushan Mountain, or Mount Gu, located in Fuzhou's Jin'an District, is a scenic area celebrated for its majestic mountain vistas and natural landscapes. It stands as a quintessential symbol of the Fuzhou landscape culture. A premier destination for locals and visitors since the Song Dynasty, it is renowned as a "Famous Mountain Through the Ages."
Legend has it that a large, flat rock resembling a drum sits atop the mountain. During times of wind and rain, a sound like the beating of a drum would echo from the summit. This continuous drumming, reverberating through the valleys, is how Gushan (Drum Mountain), earned its name.
