Zhangzhou Ancient City

Zhangzhou Ancient City, located in the Xiangcheng District of Zhangzhou, Fujian, has remarkably preserved its historical character from the Tang and Song dynasties. Its layout is defined by a unique fortification style, "using the river as the city wall and bridges as gates," and the traditional "Nine Streets and Thirteen Alleys" grid.
