Nanri Island, New Look of the Fishing Song

南日岛，渔歌新韵

FJSEN news on Jun 15th (Reporters of Fujian Daily Zhang Ying Chen Min Lin Xi) Nanri Island, the main island of Nanri, Putian Archipelago, the third largest island in Fujian and the first largest island in Putian. As the only town in this island, Nanri town is a "fishing" based township.  

南日岛，莆田南日群岛的主岛屿，福建第三大岛，莆田市第一大岛。岛上仅有的南日镇，是个以“渔”为主的乡镇。

For decades of farming, herding and fishing, "Three Treasures of Nanri" abalone, kelp, dragon's cabbage and more than 100 kinds of famous aquatic products have become the wealth code of islanders, and the province's first national marine pasture demonstration zone has landed here, and the town's fishery output value has reached RMB 5.3 billion(abt $760 million) in 2022. In order to speak louder and further the "fishing song", local people are accelerating the protection and restoration of natural resources and the ecological environment, carrying out ecological aquaculture, for achieving a more "green" fishery; and they are speeding up industrial upgrading, exploring complementary chain, advantageous chain, for pursuing the goal of fisheries better in "excellent"; and they have started integrated development to explore a wider fishery.

耕海牧渔数十载，“南日三宝”鲍鱼、海带、龙须菜及百余种名优水产品已成为岛民的财富密码，全省首家国家级海洋牧场示范区在此落地，2022年，全镇渔业产值达53亿元。为了“渔歌”唱得更响、更远，当地群众正加快保护修复自然资源、生态环境，开展生态养殖，实现渔业更“绿”；提速产业升级，探索补链、强链，追求渔业更“优”；开启融合发展，探索渔业更“广”。

Not long ago, Nanri Island was selected as the first group of national "islands of peace". 

不久前，南日岛入选第一批全国“和美海岛”。
