Diplomatic Envoys Attend the 3rd Maritime Silk Road International Tea Culture Forum

Diplomatic Envoys from 10 countries, including Sri Lanka, Japan, Singapore, Laos, Iran, Germany, Philippines, Tanzania, Thailand and South Korea, attended the 2022 Maritime Silk Road International Tea Culture Forum held in Fuding, Ningde, from June 27 to 30.

On June 27, Zhang Yan, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee met with the diplomatic envoys in Fuzhou. He highlighted Fujian’s profound tea producing history and its distinctive tea culture. He said that just like tea, friendship can transcend physical boundaries and stand the test of time.

Zhang hoped that by visiting Ningde, where President Xi Jinping once worked, diplomatic envoys will gain insight into Xi’s legacy, and better understand Fujian and China.

Diplomatic envoys thanked the organizers for the invitation, and affirmed their commitment to facilitating mutual visits, business ties and cultural exchanges between Fujian and their countries.

Also present at the meeting were Ruan Shiwei, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Fujian Provincial Committee, and other leading officials from the Publicity Department, Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Fujian Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
