Fujian and Quang Ninh Celebrate Fifth Anniversary of Twinning(1)

A virtual celebration of the fifth anniversary of twinning between Fujian Province and the Quang Ninh Province of Vietnam was held on June 8. Governor of Fujian Zhao Long, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tuong Van, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, Executive Vice Governor of Fujian Guo Ningning and Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khang attended the event.

Governor Zhao Long extended hearty congratulations to the anniversary. He noted that a fruitful cooperation has been developed between the two provinces since the twinning in May, 2017. He said, acting on the instructions of President Xi Jinping, Fujian has been serving and integrating into the new development paradigm, pursuing greater opening-up at a higher level, and expediting the building of a new Fujian in a new development stage. It is our sincere hope to join hands with Quang Ninh to expand friendship and cooperation, draw on comparative strengths to deepen mutually beneficial collaboration in digital economy, ocean economy, and cultural and tourism economy, and strengthen people-to-people exchanges.

Chiarman Nguyen Tuong Van reviewed the friendly relations between the two provinces, and appreciated the medical supplies sent by Fujian during the pandemic. He looked forward to deeper cooperation between the two provinces in economy, trade, tourism, transport, culture, education and agriculture, so as to take the friendly relations to a new level.
