Sea Area in Xiang’an Xiamen Welcomes a Small Peak of Migratory Birds in the Spring

Recently, Xiamen witnessed a small peak migration of migratory birds in the spring migration. In the sea area of Xiang’an, the members of Birds Spectators Committee noticed a large amount of Calidris  tenuiroustris

migrating to the north.

近日，厦门迎来了春季候鸟迁徙小高峰，厦门市观鸟协会会员在翔安区周边海域观测到大量往北迁飞的鹬科鸟类。

The dirctor of the committee said that the phenomenon was due to the geographical location of Xiamen, which is in the route of birds’migration (East Asia-Australasia line). Each year, more than 100 kinds of winter residents lodge or shortly stay to supplement physical ability overwintering in Xiamen.

厦门市观鸟协会有关负责人介绍，厦门地处候鸟迁徙路线（东亚澳大利西亚路线）上，每年约有上百种冬候鸟在厦越冬或者短暂停留补充体能。

And it is estimated to welcome more kinds of winter residents in the next half month.

预计在接下来的半个月，厦门将迎来更大种群的冬候鸟。
